lately there has been a tremendous uproar regarding the new ad campaign that boasts, "there's probably no god, now stop worrying and enjoy your life."
to me, this demonstrates the irony in todays society. i cannot call a person of colour "black" without being ridiculed. i cannot walk down the street and say "merry christmas." yet, a ridiculous ammount of money can be spent to plaster anti-religious remarks all over the city, COUNTRY i call home?
i was reading the bible recently, as it has become a regular thing for me. i love the way it is written, and it deffinitely has some incredibly powerful incite as to how to live your life. however, i can't help but notice how many times it contradicts itself.
now, i realize that the bible doesn't have one author, and that all the views aren't all going to be the same. however, when in one chapter it tells you one view, and in another it tells you the opposite, i find it rather ridiculous.
i'm in the tenth grade, and i was baptized and raised as a christian. i'm not extremely devoted, i'll openly admit to that. i don't know the chapters of the bible off by heart, and i couldn't tell you the ten commandments without thinking about it for a while and counting them off on my fingers. however, i am a christian none-the-less.
