Begging on the InternetPosted on: 04/16/2013 12:20There is a wonderful scene in the movie “Men In Black” where Tommy Lee Jones (Agent K), the old hand alien hunter, takes Will Smith, the eager recruit (Agent J), out onto the streets of New York to check the hot sheets. They visit a newsstand where an alien news vendor sells Jones a handful of the tabloids, with all their lurid reports of alien captures and two-headed cows. “THESE are the hot sheets?”, J asks. |
UniformsPosted on: 04/16/2013 12:18Last week I talked about some of the uniforms we find around us and talked a bit about the uniform I wear. I received a couple of interesting responses. Most intriguing was someone who talked about the “uniform” of the poor. What are the other kind of uniforms we see in our society? |

Sermon for April 14 2013Posted on: 04/14/2013 14:44
Letting go of what we know. Text: John 21:1-19, Acts 9:1-20 Preached by Rev. James Murray at Dominion-Chalmers United Church. April 14 2013 Janelle Hoffman’s 13-year-old son Greg wanted an iPhone for Christmas last year. Mom came through and delivered the goods on Christmas, but the phone came with a few conditions. In fact, it came with eighteen conditions. 1. It is my phone. I bought it. I pay for it. I am loaning it to you. Aren’t I the greatest? 2. I will always know the password. |

PresbyteryPosted on: 04/03/2013 22:33Please I need help!!!!! Does anyone know the protocol for Presbytery with regards to rejection of a JNAC report. It has been suggested that our Presbytery will reject our report based on the Pastoral relations dept of Presbytery feeling we should either be a 2 point charge or call a Diaconal or Designated Lay Worship leader. We have $300,000 in assets. Our books are in order. We had deficits in the past 5 years ranging from 15000 to 30000 yet this past year we ended with only 2000 deficit. We project a + budget of 15000 next year. |
