James Murray at Dominion-Chalmers United Church, Dec. 7 2008 When we hear the preaching of John the Baptist, we usually picture him as a fiery preacher, shouting with anger his words of judgement. While he was the original fire and brimstone preacher, to call his words angry does him a disservice. Anger is one of the seven deadly sins. To be angry is turn your heart away from love and choose wrath instead. The reason anger is such a problem is because it happens only in relationships.
