This is a skit I wrote for VBS . I thought I would share the skit with you. I used the names of the children enrolled in VBS for this and have changed the names to child1 and child2 etc for Wondercafe.
Narrator: There was once a lonely King who was tired of living by Himself. So He decided to create a family. He created planets ,moon, and stars, as well as many different types of plants and animals for this family. After He had created His family He said.
God: It is very good.
Narrator: After awhile His family started forgetting about Him and God was very sad.
God: I am very sad that my family is forgetting about me so I will create special ways for them to call me. I will create music, drama, and art.
Narrator: So God created music, drama, and art and said:
God: It is very good.
Child1: I will paint a picture for God. *child pretends to paint picture*
*God comes to look at the picture*
God It is very good
Narrator: God takes the picture and puts it on His fridge in Heaven.
Child 2: I will write a story for God *Child 2 pretends to write a story* *God takes story and reads it*
God: It is very good"
Narrator: "God takes His story and puts it on His fridge in Heaven"
Child 3: I will put on a puppet play for God *God comes to watch puppet play*
*Child 3 has puppet and makes movements*
Child 4: I will dance for God *God comes to watch child 4 dance*
Child 5: I will play my guitar for God. God sits beside child 5 and smiles as he/she plays guitar.
Narrator: God was not sad or lonely anymore as His children knew how to call Him.
THE END

Reading this Serena reminded me of the days when I used to do the same thing for Vacation Bible Schools - they are a wonderful form of ministry
children love dressing up and performing skits I found - they also love writing them too -
Thank you for sharing this - keep up the good work

This is great, it reminds all that there are SO many ways to share in Gods love and to give praise to him each and everyday.
He must have one huge fridge up there. LOL.

Nice play. Very simple and profound. It reminds me of something Peter Short quoted from i don't know where
"When i was five i was at my creative peak. I was a writer, a poet, a painter, a singer, a dancer and a musician."
So good to keep encouraging children to hold onto their creativity beyond the places where the "not good enough" voices get to them...

God didn't say these things.

God didn't say these things. and the children expressing their own souls and creative abilities (yes, God given) are not necessarily worshipping or acknowledging God. this has no theology value, in fact it deters children from finding the truth. i believe Jesus would dance before God as David did. my soul dances before God in those special Holy Spirit moments. yours?
