In addition to the thread in Health and Aging where people are leaving comments regarding the tragic loss of musicalmackenzie and the thread in Religion ‘My Heart is Heavy’, I thought it might be helpful to have a space to process, to share, to support with regards to the impact such a loss has on our wondercafe community and/or in our personal lives.
I just had news from someone who is in my circle of acquaintance that her adult daughter has an inoperable cancerous tumor and won't survive. They are moving onto chemo to make her more comfortable to give her more time with her children and husband and to prepare them for her passing.
It's such a horrifying blow for my friend. She's on her own and I know this is going to change her forever. She was in a hard place even before getting this news.
It is with sad news that I share with you that BusyMom's Dad passed this morning.
She and the family were with him, and as she has indicated to me, it was a holy moment.
Many of the wondercafe community have walked with Busymom on-line, as her father rallied time & again from the stroke, and shared the ways they were communicating. We have been blessed by her offering of her life stories to us.
Please keep the Busygang in your thoughts and prayers.
Approx 18 years ago, I discovered we were expecting twins -- I still vividly remember the excitement and anxiety, and breaking news to my husband, and our family. During that time, no one shared with us that there was a higher risk of loss with twins. Our first one was so easy, why wouldn't this work out?
The shock of the loss at 26 weeks was profound. I learned to live with a lot of "what-if's" that weren't.
Sometime before Christmas I responded to a post made by Jennybeam who claimed that we had chased Serena away telling her that the claim was false and that Serena was dealing with a personal crisis.
I have been communicating with Serena on and off since then.
This evening I recieved another Wondermail from her and she has asked that I share some information with you.
The personal crisis involved a very sudden illness in her father which lead to a coma and then shortly after that to his death.
