Think of a River

Think of water

Falling as rain

Bubbling up from springs

Running down as streams and creeks

Until they meet in the larger flow of a river.

Think of a River;

Water flowing;

Carrying silt and debris

From all the places it has touched.

From all the streams and creeks that have fed it

Think of the ocean

Receiving the water and all that it carries

From all the rivers

From all the streams

Seven stages of grief: Shock & Denial -- Songs, Poetry, Art

We have people visit the cafe, after receiving a sudden shock having lost someone or something.

Whether it be a life taken unexpectedly or someone facing a serious illness....a job lost or a relationship broken,....we often walk together in this stages.

Yet, we aren't always here, nor do people always wish to communicate.

Moderator Mardi Tindal’s blog: En Paix, en prière, en espérance

“In peace, in prayer, in hope.” This line from the Rev. Wendy Jean MacLean’s poem (“There are no hills in Mystic”/« Il n’y a pas de collines à Mystic ») has me thinking that poetry is the best container for holding my memories of visiting Montreal and Ottawa (M&O) Conference this month.

FIRST HAITI, NOW JAPAN!

Tragedy and trouble struck one day,

The earthquake wiped my whole village away.

As I stand amidst the dust and rubble

Today -- Jean Little

There is a wonderful poem in Jean LIttle's book "Hey world, Here I am "  entitled "Today".

It speaks of a child who is always doing their best, always striving, always on....and the active decision to not be on....

Does anyone know it?

Is there any poetry that you just pull out ....

Advent Greeting

Decorate your life with hope

Shine its light on all

the dark emptiness

where gloom and apathy dwell

Let its glow wash over

downtrodden dreams

making them shimmer with expectation

Scatter its sparkling promise

through your day

And watch as God's grace

Dawns on the world

Poetry Corner!

Pop Culture is my best guess for a location for this. Post any kind of poem you like, so long as it is written by you.
