I know this is one of my most controversial posts. I am coming out and admitting that I am praying for cold weather. You see my favorite activity is skating on the Rideau Canal.
When I lived in Ottawa in 1970-72 the canal would be open in December. Now we are lucky if it opens by the middle of January. Soon we will not be able to skate on the canal at all. So pray for extremely cold

For the past several years, many here in the west have come to the conclusion that there is something wrong in how the NHL conferences are dispersed. Or that there is the inevitable and unsolvable problem of social-geography - it is easier to travel in the east coast because of the lack of distance compared to the western conference (ie. how many teams are between Montreal and Washington, D.C. compared to the huge geographical difference between Vancouver, Edmonton, and Dallas, etc.).

My 15-year-old boy doesn't like church much, finds Sunday school boring, and can barely sit still during the worship service. What he loves is playing sports and running around outside. I'd like to connect him to a christian sports organization but haven't been able to find one in Canada yet. Tried Athletes in Action but it hasn't really worked for us. Anyone know of other christian sports groups for teen agers?
