Anyone know of the United Church of Canada POI app for the GPS? Might be interesting to create one. Ideas? Data source? If McDonalds and Tom Hortons can do it, why not the United Church?

Moderator Mardi Tindal’s blog: Spirit Express #1 rolls into the station

As I rolled into Toronto’s Union Station yesterday, I felt too overwhelmed by stories and reflections to pull them apart for telling quite yet. After 52 discrete events or gatherings in 27 days, they will take some time to sift and sort. Visits throughout Alberta and Northwest Conference were as extraordinary as the others, and different of course.

My travels in China

As some of the WC regulars have noted, I am back from my travels. I spent about 18 days in China all told, divided among Shanghai, Xian, and Jiuzhaigou National Park in Szechuan province. I’m still sorting through my pics but will post some of them in a Windows Live album or Flickr or something and link it here later. Here is a quick rundown of my adventures.

Pilgrim's thread about places people would like to visit got me thinking about the places I've been.  I'm no great traveller but I have had a couple of memorable trips. I think that it would be great to hear about other's trips.  Here's my list.

 

Newfoundland:  The ghost town of the outport that my mom grew up in.  Grosse Mourn National Park, one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

Travel notes from GC

So, in the interests of sharing some of the nature of the journey..

 

1.  Lesson 1 -- don't think anything will follow normal patterns -- Pick up at 5:15am ET...for flight at 8:45am ET.   Needed a little bit more time as travelling with a friend as an assistant to her.  Figured I would get some sleep on the van as I always do.. but, had a driver I hadn't seen for a while, and he invited me to the front seat to chat on the way down  -- lol, it worked out fine.
