It's time to come out of my blue funk and I think this morning has done it.
CrazyDad and I went to vote.
We arrived with our registration card in hand that was sent to us after we were innumerated. We had also ticked on our Income Tax return the box that registers us to vote.
I don't drive but I have a SGI card that has my picture on it.
I would love to hear everyone's thoughts about this! I live in Stephen Harper's riding so I'm fascinated by this concept.
Before the debate begins I will also say that if our system was actually representative, then I could vote for who I want and see a proportional amount of seats. In that case, strategic voting wouldn't be necessary.
At some point last night I heard someone on TV say that Passports were not being accepted as identification at the polling stations. I know in my mother's case this was the only photo ID she has - I don't know if she got shut out yet - but it made me wonder if anyone lost their right to vote because of this policy.
