First-St. Andrew's United Church is known affectionately as FSA. We are an inclusive Christian family encouraging spiritual growth through worship, friendship, outreach, and learning.  Our busy community has a variety of programs: from bible study to the men's brown-bag lunch to the family pot-lucks to our movie nights to our "Living the Questions" series, there is something for everyone.

Where Liberal Theology Meets the Best of Tradition
  1. We regularly provide special speakers and workshops designed to make people think about what they believe and why.
  2. Music is important to FSA: our adult and children's choirs, the FSA strings, and our bell choir will give you reason to rejoice with both traditional and contemporary music.
  3. We are an intergenerational congregation where young and old can interact and get to know each other. Our Sunday School has over 40 children and our youth group enjoys its multimedia centre as well as numerous outings in the community.
  4. We are "at the heart" of a variety of outreach actions both in London and literally around the world. We also have a strong GREEN initiative.

Our website gives you all of the details of our wide variety of programs and initiatives.  Do come visit (online or in person!)

About the Service

We have one service each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Services are traditional in nature, but can contain contemporary prayers and music.

About the Neighbourhood

We are "At the Heart" of downtown London, located on the corner of Waterloo and Queens Avenue within walking distance from many large apartment buildings and also many of the older homes of historic central London. If you work in the city core consider attending some of our Friday noon-hour musical presentations.

Quick Facts

Who do I contact with questions?

Contact Maureen Scarborough in the church office at mail@fsaunited.com

What music is played during services?

Our Senior Choir regularly provides the music, augmented from time to time with the Laudamus Bells, instrumental solos and the FSA strings. Once a month, one of our two children's choirs sings for us.

What's heavenly about your church?

We are an inclusive church. Seekers and traditionalists, gay and straight, young and old, all are welcome. Our historic building, our fabulous music and our friendly, open congregation make it a very special place to learn and to grow spiritually.

How do people dress for service?

Come as you are. You will be a accepted.

What happens after the service?

We always have a time for chat and fellowship at "coffee and conversation" in our newly refurbished Proudfoot Hall. In the summer we go out on the front lawn for lemonade

Church Minister

Kate Crawford

Kate came to us in 2010 from Gower Street United Church in Newfoundland.  While she was there she acquired the typical friendly and open spirit of the folks of that province and has been a breath of fresh air to our congregation.  Born in London, England, she has come full circle, at least in name, to London Ontario

The Rev. Tom Hiscock

During the JNAC and search process for a new second minister, we are fortunate to have acquired the services of the Rev Tom Hiscock who has just retired from long-term service with Wesley-Knox United Church here in London.  He will be with us part time and will cover off some pulpit duties and assist Kate in other ministries as well.
