The main entrance to the church is located on Carey Road and has a handicapped ramp. The front doors lead into a good sized vestibule with access to the upper and lower areas. Off the vestibule are the minister's and secretary's offices. The Upper Room is used for Prayer Time before services and council meetings. The sanctuary can seat approximately 200+ persons. The cross is lit by coloured windows on each side. There is a good sound system and the pews have cushioned seats. The lower level has the Sunday School room, large hall and kitchen areas. There are three bathrooms off the hall with one equipped for handicapped persons. The bright and sunny kitchen has two sinks and plenty of food preparation area. Food can be served though a pass-through area. The kitchen is equipped with two refrigerators and stoves. There is a microwave oven as well. There is access from the kitchen directly to the outside parking area at the rear of the church for ease of bringing in supplies.
Our Sunday service, held at 10:00 a.m., follows the Lectionary and includes: Hymns and Anthem; reading by lay people from the Bible; fabulous sermons, and Time to be Children.
Garden City is located in a lovely area in Saanich. Members of our congregation come from all over the city though. We are an easy 10 - 15 minute drive from most parts of the city.
The Rev. Brown has been with Garden City United since June 2010. He will be working with our Transition Team over the next two years as we work towards our future ministry in the Garden City area.
