About the Neighbourhood

Grace United is located one block off of 10th Steet (Main St.) Hanover, in the heart of Saugeen Country in southwestern Ontario. Hanover is a thriving town of over seven thousand people with a prosperous manufacturing and regional commercial development base.

Church Minister

Rev. Rienk Vlietstra (on right); Associate: Rev. Stan Bunston

Rev. Rienk Vlietstra

Born in the Netherlands, Rienk came to Canada with his parents and three siblings in 1953, settling on a farm just west of  Acton, Ontario.  His first career as a Metallurgist with Dofasco ended in 1993.  Rienk trained at Emmanuel College in Toronto, began his first Pastorate in 1996, was ordained in 1997 and came to Grace United, Hanover, in November of 2006, his third Pastoral Charge.  Rienk and Susan and their youngest of five daughters, Laura, as well as two dogs, two cats and a bird live at Marl Lake, just west of Hanover.

 

Rev. Stan Bunston, Associate

After graduating from Emmanuel College and ordination, Rev. Stan joined the ministry team at Grace United in July, 2009 as a half time Associate.  A retired accountant and father of three adult children, Stan’s ministry includes visitation and services for seniors.
