We are a small church with about 50 in attendance on Sunday.  Mostly older, but we do have a smattering of younger people and we are culturally diverse. Knob Hill sprang up with the suburban growth of Scarborough in 1955. It began to worship first in a portable, then moved into its building in 1957. A Christian Education Wing was added in the 1960's. Knob Hill United Church has run a community a day care since the late 1970's.  We have a lively choir, several active committees and plenty of opportunity for warm fellowship.

About the Service

Mostly traditional with some modern music, good choir, child friendly.

About the Neighbourhood

Knob Hill United Church

Church Minister

Margaret Collard

Margaret Collard was commissioned as a diaconal minister in 1990 at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Conference.  Knob Hill is her 5th pastoral charge. She has always chosen to be in team ministry prior to Knob Hill; thus, KHUC is the first time she has served as the solo-paid accountable minister.

Margaret is keenly interested in social justice issues; especially seeking “compassionate justice and peace for all ages.”   She believes the United Church continues to have a strong presence in the Scarborough area, but in the years ahead, the Church will continue to evolve and seek the most efficient way to respond to the pastoral needs of  its adherents.
