Together, we search for our own ways to : Love God, Love Creation, Love Our Neighbours and Love Ourselves. Worship has taken place in the big church at the main intersection of the village since 1890. The door at the corner of Main and St. Lawrence is wheel-chair accessible. Most people slip in the side door on Main St.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT: As Christians, our mission is to love and serve

About the Service

During July and August, our worship service begins at 9:30 and Sunday School has a summer break. Typically our worship service begins at 11:00 AM. Children attend the first part of church then depart, if they wish, for Sunday School at 11:15.

About the Neighbourhood

Merrickville United Church backs onto the lawns of the historic Rideau Canal (declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 2007). The village is described as "quaint", "one of the prettiest villages in Ontario",  "a shopper's paradise" and "home".

Quick Facts

Who do I contact with questions?

Call Rev. Ritchie at 613-269-4414 or Email: unitedchurch3@bell.net

What music is played during services?

Our Music Director is the young Mr Abraham te Grotenhuis. Father of two daughters. Organist. Pianist. Bongo Drum player. Abraham makes everything about music seem so terribly easy.

Why would I come to Merrickville United?

Because something is tugging on you deep inside. Because you want to do something for yourself, your kids and others. Because you'd like to be where people honour the sacred & ask questions

How do people dress for service?

The whole range from "casual" to "snappy" can be found on any given Sunday.

What happens after the service?

We welcome all to a time of light refreshment and fellowship

Rev Ritchie was called to our charge in Oct. 2011 and comes to us from the Maritime Conference. We look forward to a long partnership in discovering more about the love of Christ and ways of sharing ourselves to serve our Community.
