I love K.D.'s version of Hallelujah! It's my favourite (sorry Mr.Cohen...she perfected your song).

Personally, as much as I like K.D.'s version, I prefer either John Cale's cover or Jeff Buckley's. Find the old thread on cover songs. I posted both of them there. And for "Bird on a Wire" (the other Cohen song on the album), I prefer Jennifer Warnes. On the other hand, Lang's Neil Young and Jane Siberry covers hit the mark perfectly.

I have mixed feelings about Jeff Buckley's music. His voice was beautiful but also so haunting I get almost a creepy chill when i listen to him.

I agree. This is one of the few times when I have liked a cover version more than the original. I like Leonard Cohen's version, but kd lang's version is almost indescribable in its' beauty to me.
