It's time - it's past time - to change my avatar. Always I have used an old photo for an avatar. Someone had walked me through the steps from placing the photo on the printer screen to hitting the final 'refresh' button.
Now I think I'm ready to try something new. I've found a picture that I think reflects one of my present interests on Google image search. Could someone please walk me, baby step by baby step through the process until the picture appears with my user name in my profile.

Hi Seeler - give this a try -
First you need to have copied the image from google & saved it in your 'my pictures' file on your computer. Make sure it ends with .jpg (which it probably will be already)
Then ...
1. when you log in, go to the profile tab & then click on "edit" tab
2. scroll down to the "picture" sectiion where your current pic shows. Under it, click in the "delete picture" box. Scroll down the page & click on SAVE.
3. now go back to the "edit" tab, & scroll down again to the "picture" section. See the "Upload Picture" box & the "browse" button beside it - click on "browse". That should take you to your "my pictures" file in your own computer. Find the picture you want to use for your icon - click on the picture then click on "open" - the 'address' for this pic will then show up on your w/d edit page beside that browse button.
4. scroll down to the bottom & click on SAVE again - the new icon should then be uploaded.
5. you may need to 'refresh' your browser before you see the picture - (the little green arrows going around in a circle - usuall right at the top of your page)
I think that should work Seeler - if I've got it right!
I'll watch for your metamorphosis!

Thank you - I'll give it a shot. Probably not tonight though. I'm just checking in right now while waiting for the dinner to cook (baked potato, green and yellow beans, pork chops, homemade green tomato relish, and apple pie a la mode. - and a nice glass of homemade wine)
