The W. Norman McLeod Scholarship is the leading United Church scholarship in postgraduate studies. Nine have been awarded in 2011.

Almost There! Benefits Centre open July 4th, but in the meantime...

The (new) United Church Benefits Centre is set to open July 4th!  The transition is almost complete, and now the postal stoppage is almost over the information packages for all members (ministry and lay personnel of the United Church, and affiliated organizations) and treasurers should be arriving by next week.

Paper Survey: Past. Relations/Healthy Congregations~March 11 deadline

Fore those of you that recieved a paper version of the recent Pastoral Relations survey (many of you, WonderCafe folk, would have done this online)

PLEASE NOTE: Survey deadline has been extended to March 11 (Friday). 

The survey was sent our on Feb. 11, but in many cases hasn't arrived at the intended destinations until (in one notable case) Today!  ACK!

We Want Your Input: Please do complete the survey and send it it. It isn't late!

The Theology and Inter-Church Inter-Faith Relations Committee of The United Church of Canada is undertaking a multiple-year study on power in the church and in society. This event will be held in October, at Queens School of Religion.

i'm not a huge fan of these things, but i think its fun to predict who and which movie you think will do well. 

 

heck, we can even have a contest to see who guesses the most correctly!!

 

here are mine, in no particular order...

 

best actress - Natalie Portman, 'The Black Swan'

 

best actor - Colin Firth, 'The Kings Speech'

 

best director - Darren Aronofski (sp?), 'The Black Swan'
