Yesterday I had the privilege of attending this service @ First Unitarian Congregation of Waterloo. Here is the sermon by the Reverend Jessica Purple Rodela. She speaks of standing up against LGBTQ bullying, and remembers those who have taken their own lives. In my opinion, definitely worth a watch, and to share with your friends.
How do you detach from the persecutor/victim game(s). This is when someone who is actually a bully manages to be sly enough to keep their bullying not necessarily hidden but definitely out of a spotlight. When the intended victim blasts out or reacts, the bully then puts on the offended act and cries and carries on as if they have been bullied out of the blue over nothing and that their victim is an abusive so and so etc.
Interesting report out of the US. Over 43,000 high school students were polled, which is a pretty good sample size. The first segment released is on bullying. I found it interesting in how perceptions have changed in two years - but then I tend to look for positives...
There is also a parenting quiz some might find interesting.
I'll be upfront about this -- I am writing through the use of a sockpuppet. Because my other identity is fairly well known, I am using a different identity so as to protect a friend. I came to ask if any of you have dealt with workplace bullying and ask for suggestions for this person.
