I mean if you believe in a sort of heaven, have you ever dreamed you were there?
I had a dream recently (described in my Crazy Dreams thread in Social) where I had a chance to walk through a gateway to the "beyond" but there was no telling what was there. One might find a sort of dreamworld, or one might find, there was no conciousness at all beyond that point, so I wasn't about to go thorugh and find out. There would be no coming back. I was in a sort of half way world, floating, and everything was light and bright and pleasant and dreamy.
I had two interesting dreams in the past couple of weeks.
1. I dreamt my cousin and I ate all the ice cream at Dairy Queen and Dairy Queen closed down. A few days later Dairy Queen actually did close down and it looks like it is permanent.
2. I dreamt that one of my male friends grew long hair and braided it and then when I saw this friend next he shaved his head.
Most of us feel pressed – surviving holidays, keeping up with jobs, managing ever-expanding family obligations, and trying to find time for friends and community. It’s little wonder we’re asking: how can we create space in our lives for what we want?
It’s a question I wrestled with this fall as I recovered from surgery. The prognosis was good, but when I was off work longer than expected, I discovered I like having time to read, write, and walk– so I started considering how to create space for those in my life.
