I would like to discuss the Uganada bill and focus on actions, question, status related to same.

Some wish to discuss whether it is appropriate for us to judge another country or intercede.

There is surely something distasteful in the story that Olympics officials have tested a South African runner, determined that chemically or something she has too many male gender characteristics, and taken away her medal. She is not on suicide watch.

Eleanorgold's thread about Boys and Stuffed Animals got me thinking about the ways in which we adapt our parenting approach, depending on whether the child is male or female.  Jon71 mentioned the way in which a boy child might be heartily lifted overheard and likened to a future quarterback and a girl would be tenderly cradled and called a princess.
