I see entirely too many stories like the one following. I don't think we can chalk this up to religion entirely (althought Eastern Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism retain their official disapproval of homosexuals). In my experience, the subject gets very little discussion in the church itself (I have never heard a sermon on it, for example). I would guess you would hear more at a fundamentalist Christian congregation. (Of course, my experience is only in Canada).
I'm looking for recommendations for books about the relationship between LGPT people (preferably lesbians) and Christianity. I'm especially interested in theology and scripture.
Looking through my shelf the other day, I realised that I have lots of queer theory and lots of books about Christianity, but the two never meet.
I'm hoping you all have thoughts and recommendations on this.
