All of the snow in this city from last winter has finally melted. Yes, there was still snow in September from last winter (and probably a little in the spring). Probably just in time to get some more soon *sigh*.
We had 5-10 cm of heavy wet snow overnight and they are calling for 5-10 more today. I'd rather have double that amount of powder. This wet stuff is a pain (literally) to shovel. And just when our piles from the last couple storms were fading fast, too.
School buses cancelled but schools in the city are open.
It's Mendalla's turn to post a snow day thread. London is pretty much shutting down today and it may not stop until tomorrow night or even Wednesday. One meteorologist is saying that by the time it's over, we may be twice as much snow in 3 days as we normally get in the whole month. I couldn't get out this morning and my office ended up closing at 2pm EST (ie. just now) anyway. I've shovelled twice in 24 hours and will likely need to shovel 2-3 more times over the next 24. Mercifully, my son is now big enough to be able to help.
Oh Lord, won’t you please stop the snow
My friends are all buried, we have no place to go
Been shoveling for days and weeks on end
Oh Lord, won’t you please stop all this snow
Oh Lord, won’t you bring on just a little sun
Just for one day and I’ll feel like I won
These endless white flakes are really no fun
Oh Lord, won’t you bring on just a little sun
