2 great kids, 2 great dogs, 1 great husband (not 2!) UCC member all my life, Designated Lay Minister, even though I'd often like to stay home on Sundays, sleep read, play, travel. Generally normal life is very secular - rock concerts when I could afford it, action & sci-fi & comedy movies, especially brain candy like Monty Python, Mel Brooks, James Bond, Star Wars, road trips, canoeing, good restaurants (when I can afford it),
But I'm passionate about making church "WORK" for normal people - introducing them to the Spirit, nudging them towards even a bit of transformation.
I have a BA in Political Science that I enjoyed thoroughly and did nothing with, but it comes in handy at church. I have a diploma that gives me permission to complain about the government - what about you guys????
I'm progressive, I'm open, I'm liberal, and enjoy a great discussion.
I'm a doula & teach birth - an amazing time for transformation & learning about oneself (dad's too!) and I'm always happy to answer questions and offer information - better than you wondering and not knowing who to ask, so email me if you need to.
family - kids just learned to play euchre, makes for fun times!
Birth - great transition for women -- learn for confidence!
United Church - at least the main church, Observer church -
Politics - BA in Pol Sci; especially Cdn, US, elections
canoeing, Bad jokes, loud music, feeding friends, Bakng with my kids, old stuff - houses, history, antiques, Green stuff - sustainable houses, strawbale houses,
My son wants me to own up and admit my love for Star Wars too - he'd like my picture to be Yoda but there is honestly more to me than a Leia wanna-be!

Thanks for sharing! I love your stories too and they are similar to mine (though a bit easier). The best way to share is to help! I could hook you up with a doula training ;)
We've got lots to talk about - I'll switch over to a wondermail.

So, I must tell you my two amazing home water births! The first was a breeze (10 or so hours of easy labour - I was fixing up my house, hooking up my computer and a trying to rest up before the hard work started. Then my water broke and two.5 hours later, my little girl was in my arms!
With the second, the whole labour last 5 hours... and I slept through the first two. My baby slipped out into the water before the midwife even got there!
I have amazing memories of my births... I got to dance to my favourite love song during the labour of my second daughter... I got to hold both my babies in a warm tub right after they were born and listen to them... Neither one gave that heart wrenching scream you hear on tv... It was fantastic. I pray that more and more women have home births like mine.
I had a very difficult time with nursing though... and ppd.
Anywy, I thought I'd share! Folks generally aren't keen on birth stories but I love to remember mine!
