I've renewed my interest in the Christian faith after many year's absence. I belong to a Progressive Christian church - and through the writings of Marcus Borg and others I've found a faith I can believe in. I find this exciting as I've always been interested in the "big" questions - such as why are we here? what happens when we die?
I'm a widow with three step-daughters and seven grandchildren. I enjoy bushwalking, sailing, gardening, tennis. I enjoy long lunches, films, and a good sermon!
My "big" ambition is to overcome my fear of death, so that when that my time comes(hopefully not for a long time yet!) I will die with peace and dignity. My other ambition is to see an iceberg in Alaska (depite it being the home of Sarah Palin.)

Icebergs

Some of the largest and most majestic icebergs in the world can be seen in Iceberg Alley -
between the tip of northern Newfoundland and southern Labrador. Maybe that is another option.....and it's definately not in the territory of Sarah Palin. Besides, Newfundlanders are terrific people.

Sarah and Icebergs

Hi Mike,
I haven't checked this "wall" for a while.
Would that Sarah one day show the dignity of the Inuit - and
float quietly away on an iceberg one day. (It's okay, she's
"born again" so will get a free pass to Heaven).

O that Sarah lived on an iceberg!

Faerenach - the name
Posted on: 03/30/2009 05:18
I thought it sounded Celtic! I'm a descendant of the Mc Vicars - and they were originally Picts.
(Maybe I've got what my Scottish grandmother called "the third eye!" - like Wee John in Hamish McBeth!)

Hey! The story of Faerenach

Hey! The story of Faerenach is not very long or complicated - it is a name I made up for a short fictional story in a high school writing course. She was a Pict by birth, and lived around 400AD. So yes, there is a Celtic connection! I based the name on Pictish placenames, as it is some of the only evidence of the early language that we have.
